Cape Town Amateur Radio Centre

CTARC Club House

Welcome to the CTARC web site

  • We are one of South Africa's longest-running amateur radio clubs. An ongoing history is here.

  • We serve radio hams in the Cape Town area and environs.

  • We are an active radio club and take part in numerous varied activities.

  • We broadcast weekly club bulletins for members and interested listeners and hold regular radio nets.

  • We hold regular monthly members meetings at our clubhouse.

  • We publish a members' newsletter called Ragchew every month.

  • We have the use of a remote-controlled base station at Morningstar.

  • We are involved with the VHF and UHF repeater network in the Western Cape. More on our Repeaters page.

  • We assist newcomers to our hobby, who must write the Radio Amateurs Exam to obtain a legal amateur radio license.

  • The club is run by a committee elected at the Annual General Meeting. You can find our constitution on the web site, as well as the minutes of the past AGMs.
